Seeing Red Arizona: No Amnesty!

"They will tell us our immigration system is broken. It is not.  What is broken is our trust."  GOP Amnesty "Standards" Based on Fallacies, Unenforceable Provisions

Seeing Red Arizona is one of the best conservative blogs in Arizona.  They have published some excellent articles relating to Amnesty (aka the politically correct "Immigration Reform"), including links to even more articles.  The bottom line is that granting Amnesty in any form will destroy the Republican party, not to mention the American economy and the ability of legal citizens to find jobs.  (Surely, you don't believe what you read in the leftist newspapers about those cooked up low unemployment numbers.)    In fact, it will destroy the reason that so many people want to come to America, not flee it.

Here is a short list of articles that you can find on Seeing Red Arizona on this critical issue, including a few excerpts.  Please read this blog from time to time for your conservative reality check.

DNC Chair Admits It's all About Voting.

Rush Limbaugh has long warned that Republicans are signing onto political suicide in conspiring with Democrats in their attempt to legalize illegal aliens. Limbaugh contends it is ultimately a push for citizenship intended to grant voting rights to a new Democrat demographic.

GOP Amnesty "Standards" Based on Fallacies, Unenforceable Provisions

The bottom line is the get-tough language regarding illegal aliens meeting certain standards and requirements is unenforceable, inviting even more fraud from our invaders. They begin by telling Americans who know better that “our nation’s immigration system is broken and our laws are not being enforced.” The truth is there is no will to enforce the law since business interests are enamored with low wage, foreign laborers. American voters can’t compete with the deep-pocketed lobbyists for the Chambers of Commerce who have the ability to persuade office holders in ways none of the rest of us do.

The document asserts “There will be no special path to citizenship for individuals who broke our nation’s immigration laws.” Addressing the injustice to legally applying immigrants it says, “that would be unfair to those immigrants who have played by the rules and harmful to promoting the rule of law.” The sham document patently neglects the fact that all illegals “broke our nation’s immigration laws.”

House Republicans also gift U.S. citizenship to the demanding, so-called DREAMersthose who profess they were brought here as children, another claim that is unverifiable, since applicants for this scam on America can be up to 35 years old.  They have to “meet certain eligibility standards, and serve honorably in our military or attain a college degree.” Authenticating such claims or when they actually arrived, is an impossibility.

Amnesty is Republican Party Suicide.

The pro-amnesty New York Times gleefully reported on Oct. 26 the front-page news that big-business leaders and Republican big donors are gearing up for a "lobbying blitz," backed up by money threats, to get Congress to pass amnesty. Big business wants amnesty in order to get more cheap labor and keep wages forever low, and that is a gross betrayal of the legal immigrants who hope to rise into the middle class and achieve the American dream.

The big donors poured $400,000,000 into the campaigns of losing establishent-backed Republican candidates in 2012.  They would rather elect Democrats than conservative, social-issue Tea Party-type grassroots Republicans who don't take orders from the establishment.

GOP Crafts Plan to wreck the Country, Lose Voters

Citing surveys from the Pew Research Center, the Pew Hispanic Center, Gallup, NBC News, Harris polling, the Annenberg Policy Center, Latino Decisions, the Center for Immigration Studies and the Hudson Institute, Schlafly's report overwhelmingly demonstrates that merely continuing our current immigration policies spells doom for the Republican Party.
Immigrants -- all immigrants -- have always been the bulwark of the Democratic Party. For one thing, recent arrivals tend to be poor and in need of government assistance. Also, they're coming from societies that are far more left-wing than our own. History shows that, rather than fleeing those policies, they bring their cultures with them.

GOP Poised to Snatch Defeat from Jaws of Victory.

An invitation to fraud, the DREAM Act is far more expansive than presented. Anyone up to the age of 35 who claims they were brought here before age 16 can apply for amnesty. Since illegal aliens are, as the media likes to call them — “undocumented” — there is no way of verifying their claims. They could have arrived as adults last week. In fact, illegal aliens do not need to attend college or join the military to receive legal status, they simply need to declare that they intend to do so within the next six years. In order to receive legal status, they don’t need to show they are of “good moral character” and can actually be convicted criminals. But such facts don’t impede their abilities to compete with Americans for limited jobs, and attend public colleges with in-state tuition, thanks to our so-called representatives who are eager to provide them legal status, with  citizenship the next bit of thepiecemeal” scheme.

On Immigration Reform, Lawmakers Shouldn't Trust Obama.

The President and Congress did not pass comprehensive immigration reform during his first two years in office when liberals controlled both Houses of Congress.  He now wants conservatives to join him in this unpopular policy, apparently asking them to trust that he will enforce the law in return.

Because amnesty by itself is extremely unpopular, sometimes policy makers include other, more popular measures alongside it.  For example, in 1986 Contress passed, and the President signed a "one time" amnesty of some 3 million unlawful immigrants and promised border security and workplace enforcement.  Unfortunately, the promises of border security and workplace enforcement were not kept.  Today more than 10 million unlawful immigrants reside in the United States.
