Letter to the Editor of the Payson Roundup

Donald Cline of Payson, Arizona, sent the following Letter to the Editor to Pete Aleshire, the editor of the Payson Roundup.  Mr. Aleshire has not published it.  Mr. Cline advised Gila Watch that Mr. Aleshire hasn’t published any of Mr. Cline’s letters to his newspaper for months.  Gila Watch appreciates the opportunity to publish Mr. Cline’s letter.

Pete Aleshire’s column, “The Greasy Pole,” postulates that “Obamacare (is) good for some, troubling for others” and entirely misses the point of the argument about Obamacare.  Mr. Aleshire’s column is about the perceived value system of one side of the federal health care debate versus the perceived value system of the other side, and concludes the discussion by throwing out both sides and asserting Mr. Aleshire’s own value system – which has no more bearing on the debate than any other.

It has no bearing on the debate because the debate is not about value systems.  The debate is about principles, a concept totally absent from Mr. Aleshire’s column, and clearly absent from any branch of the federal government as it is currently administered.

The principle at issue in this debate is the principle of liberty from government intrusion into private affairs of the citizens and robbery of their productive labor for unauthorized purpose.  Does the United States Constitution, the written document that established the government of the United States and delegated to it the only lawful authority it has, delegate any authority whatever to the U.S. government to rob Peter to pay Paul’s medical bills?

Christians Help Christians with Medical Bills, Refuse Obamacare

Are you a Christian who regularly attends church?  Then, why are you allowing yourself to be victimized by the Leftists and railroaded into Obamacare?  It may be "politically correct" in this country to insult and persecute Christians, but we don’t have to pay for the abortions of those who insult us.  For over two thousand years, Christians have helped others, no matter what their faith, or lack of it.  We have a golden opportunity to practice our faith by helping other Christians.

Many Christians are leaving the insurance market to join healthcare sharing ministries.   Members pay for one another’s medical bills. These groups, though not technically insurance, oversee networks where thousands of monthly “gifts” cover members’ eligible medical expenses.   When the day comes that you need help, your fellow Christians are there to help you pay for your medical bills.

Your monthly cost will be lower, especially for families.  You won’t be paying for birth control pills, abortions, abortion-producing drugs, or alcohol or drug-related health issues or accidents.

There are three major health cost sharing programs in the U.S.A., with approximately 180,000 individual members.  Study each one carefully.  Monthly costs vary, as do benefit maximums and methods to increase them.  Pay close attention to their provider networks, to see which program works best for you.  All of them are based on Biblical principles.

Christian Health Ministries.

This Christian-led company has been in business for 30 years.  In the last 20 years, Christian Health Ministry members have shared more than $1 billion in medical bills. The ministry is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization.  Even their most expensive Gold plan is only $150 per month per insured.  Families pay $450 per month, no matter how many children are in the family.  Click HERE for more information.

Samaritan Ministries International.

In operation for nearly 20 years, Samaritan Ministries International is the largest bill-sharing faith based program with over 82,000 individual members.  Click HERE for more information.

Christian Care Ministry/Medi-Share.

Based in Melbourne, Florida, this group has a community of over 70,000 members.  Since 1993, Medi-Share members have shared more than $800 million in healthcare expenses.  Click HERE for more information.

Medicaid Expansion is not Insurance; It’s a Loan

In a December 15, 2013 blog article titled "If you Like your house, You can Keep your house," the brave new world of "Medicaid Expansion" gets murky:

"On October 17, Beverly Woods asked a disturbing question on the DailyKos.com website.What happens to the assets of people who now meet the expanded criteria for Medicaid?  Medicaid was designed to ensure healthcare for the truly destitute, and existing state and federal laws, regulations, policies, and procedures are based on the assumption that people on Medicaid have essentially no disposable assets. The Act Formerly Known as Obamacare changes that.

" Medicaid does not insure Americans against medical expenses–it loans them the money to pay expenses, and takes it all back when they die.

"You could call it a "death tax," if that term hadn’t been taken. Next year, Americans who die with more than five million dollars in assets will pay 40% in taxes. Americans who die on Medicaid will pay 100% of their Medicaid expenses before their heirs get one penny.

"Family farm? Gone. Mom and Pop shop? Gone. Nana’s house, with her snow-white picket fence around her prize-winning garden? Gone, gone, gone.

"Is there a way around this problem? There is not supposed to be, for long-term care expenses. The system is designed to loan money to people who have no assets, and to recover as much government money as possible from people who do have assets. Lots of people have tried to hide their assets from the government, with limited success. In particular, parents may not deed their houses over to their children to evade their debts–if they do, and incur medical expenses any time during the next 60 months, the children will be required to pay Medicaid back."

In a related by Dr. Jane Orient, titled ORIENT: Medicaid as a Tax on the ‘estates’ of the Poor, Arizona is specifically referenced.  Dr. Orient practices internal medicine in Tucson, AZ, and is executive director of the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons. She states:

I Knew, and They Knew

by Jane Evans,
Payson, AZ

Shortly after the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) was signed into law by President Obama on March 23, 2010, I knew, as an insurance agent, that any health insurance plan written after that date would be subject to cancellation in 2014. Furthermore, if my customers made any changes to their plans after that date, they would no longer be considered “grandfathered” and their plans could also be cancelled.  I knew, the insurance companies knew, and it is inconceivable that President Obama, Nancy Pelosi, and Harry Reid didn’t know. They were the ones who wrote the Bill! Every time I heard President Obama or Nancy Pelosi say that “If you like your plan, you can keep your plan, PERIOD” I knew it wasn’t true. They are now trying to qualify what they promised over and over again, but words do mean something and the word “period” means “period”. The  vulnerable Democrats in Congress are trying to distance themselves from this disastrous law like rats fleeing a sinking ship, but they voted for this bill in 2010, and  they have continued to support it until now. Remember, every Republican voted against the Affordable Care Act. This bill was written by, and passed by a Democratic Congress and no matter how they try to spin the facts, the record stands.

PCRC Approves Motion to Censure Shope, Pratt, and Coleman

Sources from within the Pinal County Republican Committee (PCRC) have advised Gila Watch that today, November 16, 2013, the PCRC voted to:

"Censure Arizona Representatives Frank Pratt (LD8), T J Shope (LD8), and Douglas Coleman (LD16) for voting for the Medicaid expansion against the expressed position of this body and the Republican Party platform, aligning with the democrats and helping welfare expansion and Obamacare in Arizona. We therefore censure these legislators, and encourage other Pinal County Republicans to likewise disassociate themselves from any of these who may be candidates for office in the upcoming 2014 elections."

The motion passed with just under 70% of the vote.

Maricopa County Republican Committee’s EGC – Resolution to Censure Gov. Jan Brewer and 14 State Legislators

On November 7, 2013, the Maricopa County Republican Committee’s Executive Guidance Committee (MCRC EGC) Passed A Resolution To Censure Gov. Jan Brewer And 14 State Legislators:

·       Statement From A J LaFaro, MCRC Chairman: "It’s unfortunate the Resolution to Censure even needed to be considered and voted on; however, the Republican Party is at a critical crossroads in its history.  A majority of Republicans are frustrated and ‘mad as hell’ with people who say they are Republican but do not support the principles and policies set forth in the Declaration of Independence, the U.S. Constitution, and the Republican Party Platform.  It’s time to purge the Republican Party of the individuals who say they are Republican but support and vote with the progressive socialist Democrats,

According to Article I Section 1 of the MCRC Continuing By-Laws Revised January 12, 2013:

Section 1 – Objective

The objective of the MCRC is to uphold the principles and policies as set forth in the Declaration of Independence, the U.S. Constitution, and the Republican Party Platform.

We will promote the political education of all Republican Party workers and loyalty to the Republican Party platform. We will also support the election of our party candidates who uphold the principles and policies as set forth in the Declaration of Independence, the U.S. Constitution, and the Republican Party Platform.  Our Republican members and the public should never forget what the Governor and 14 State Legislators did.  These links should help.

Obamacare is a Fantastic Success!

Wayne Allyn Root, the author of this article, understands the enemy.  He understands his strategy, tactics, and ulimate goal.  Obamacare isn’t a "trainwreck."  That’s what Obama wants you to believe.  That’s what the stupid party (aka Republican Party) believes. The truth is that Obamacare is a "brilliant, cynical, and purposeful attempt to damage the U.S. economy, kill jobs, and bring down capitalism."

So, now that you know Obama’s true goal, how’s he doing?  Brilliantly.

Does the GOP see it?  No.  But you do.  And that’s why you can still restore our Republic.  Identifying the disease is critical to eradicating it.

Here are some excerpts
